Strouss
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Strouss was a department store serving the U.S. states of Ohio and Pennsylvania. Formerly known as Strouss-Hirschberg Co., it was long the leading department store in Youngstown, Ohio. Under the ownership of May Department Stores its name was shortened to Strouss. In 1986 it was merged into Kaufmann's, which promptly shut-down many of its former locations in 1987 due to the depressed Youngstown-Warren, Ohio-Sharon, Pennsylvania economy.
