Strike ridge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A strike ridge is a linear topographic ridge formed parallel to the strike of the underlying inclined bedrock layers which has become asymmetric largely due to differential erosion.
The two flanks of a strike ridge are typically markedly different. One is normally steeply sloped and cuts across several bedrock layers (this is called the antidip slope or scarp slope). The other flank is more gently sloping, as it conforms to the dip slope of the underlying bedrock.
