[edit] Materials and Design
Strider Knives produces folding knives and fixed-blade knives. Using materials such as ATS-34, S-30V[1], Titanium, Stellite, Beryllium, damascus steel, and BG-42 for the blades.[2]
Strider uses a proprietery heat treat originally developed by Paul Bos of Buck Knives[3]. This results in knives coming back from heat treat with a very dark colored blade. After various methods of masking, Strider then beadblasts certain portions of the blade which results in a striping or camoflage effect. [4] [5]
[edit] Military Models
Strider's first project as a company was to supply Naval Special Warfare Group 1 with WB and BG models in 1994.[6]
Strider Knives currently makes several models specifically for US Military Units in the Global War on Terror[7], each with its own designated NSN number.[8] 1095-01-531-5015 is the National Stock Number for the Strider SMF (officially known as Knife, Folding, Special Mission). The Strider DB-L (officially designated as Knife, Fixed, Camo) NSN 1095-01-531-5023 and the JB1(officially designated Shroud Knife) NSN 1670-09-000-3920.

Strider's folding knives are named the RC, AR, GB, SMF, SnG and the PT.[9]
