Strathfield South, New South Wales

Strathfield South is a suburb, in the inner-west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 14km south west of the Sydney central business district in Municipality of Strathfield.

From the time it was first established until about 1891, the area now known as Strathfield South, was known as Druitt Town. This name was given to the area by Joshua Judge Josephson, who owned large areas of land in the area, in honour of his friend Major George Druitt. .[1]

Strathfield South Public School is the main K-6 New South Wales Department of Education and Training (DET) run school in the area. With over 125 years of history, SSPS has the motto Thinking of Others.

Strathfield South High School is the main 7-12 DET run school in the suburb.
