Stratford Square Mall, is a shopping mall in Bloomingdale, Illinois. It is located off of Gary Avenue and Army Trail Road. The mall, which has been classified as a B CLASS mall the past few years, was recently purchased by famed investor Larry Feldman, of Feldman Malls. They plan to renovate the mall and attract upscale tenants, in order to tranform this mall into an A CLASS mall to compete with others like it in Illinois.
So far, Feldman has managed to attracted an ultra-luxury 16 screen Century movie theater into the mall, scheduled to open in July of 2007. Starbucks, Cold Stone Creamery, Abercrombie, and Express are some of the many new stores that have entered into this mall. Similar to what was done with malls purchased by Feldman in New York and Arizona, Feldman plans to give Stratford Square a fresher, more modern look, with plasma TVs, new lighting, ceilings and walls. The mall has many department stores at its outlet, including Carson Pirie Scott, Macy's which used to be Marshall Field's, JC Penny, Kohl's, Sears, and Burlington Coat Factory.
Further inside the mall are the many stores always undergoing their own renovations. Deb has been moved twice since its initial hello to the market at around 2002, and is currently waiting to move back to the renovated store.
The Movies
Stratford Square Mall has a constantly revolving movie theatre that has opened, and closed, and opened, and closed. According to the official website the mall will be opening a 16 screen theatre in summer of 2007.
