[edit] History
The Stratford franchise seems to date back to at least the 1940s, then known as the Stratford Kist Canadians. Stratford played in the Central "B" from 1962 until 1969. When they joined the old Western "B" in 1969, they became the Warriors and stayed on board until 1976. In 1976, the team jumped to the precursor to the Mid-Western "B", the "Waterloo-Wellington Junior "B" Hockey League" and changed their name to the Culltions. Since joining the Mid-Western, the Cullitons have easily dominated the league, winning 8 of the first 13 championships they competed for. They have since won 5 more league championships. If the Stratford Canadians era is included, the Stratford Junior "B" club has captured 8 Sutherland Cups, leading the Mid-Western "B" with 6 since its founding in 1977. The Cullitons have never failed to make the playoffs since joining the Mid-Western "B", a feat only matched by their long time rivals, the Waterloo Siskins.
One thing that sets the Cullitons apart from any other teams in the league, including the Siskins, is that the Cullitons have never suffered a losing season. In fact, in 29 seasons of hockey the Cullitons have had 10 or less losses in a season 22 times. Shockingly, on 3 occasions the Culltions have had more ties than losses. They are easily one of the most dominant teams in the modern Ontario Hockey Association. They have also scored more than 300 goals in a season a 11 times, and have only allowed more than 200 goals once. The Cullitons have also been regular season champions 19 times.
