[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Gollum-animated.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Gollum-animated.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Leonardo-Goatee.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Leonardo-Goatee.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ResurgamII 15:08, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: "(dont block Irfanhasmit)"

Huh.... normally vandalism resuls in a block. We don't have time (or resources) for fooling around here -- Tawker 01:53, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Niagra river

Since Niagara river already exists, this page will, I think, be deleted. Thank you, though. There are lists of page requests, and pages that do exist that are in need of expansion and further work, if you'd like to see if there are any that fit your particular interest and expertise- just edit

{{opentask}} (as it appears, with the curly brackets) into your userpage to obtain an uptodate list. Schissel | Sound the Note! 02:11, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

What do you mean edit... i am searching for the article i don't want to edit something I don't know about!

[edit] Thanksْ

Dear Soroush

Thanks for your comment, Man az in ke shoma ro inja mibinam khoshhalam. I don't think my English to be at proffesional level, because I'm not fluent at writing it. I wish I were fluent at 3 languages in the place of knowing 3 languages a little in addition to my mother tongue. I don't know if you know Persian alphabet or Tajik alphabet, but I mostly work in Farsi and Tajik wikipedias as you can find links of my other user pages in my English user page.

Best wishes for you. --Soroush ☺talk | ☼Contributions 22:27, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism?

Hi there! Just for the record, people don't need anybody's permission to make small improvements on their user page. For instance, people can fix typos and correct links. In this case, EVula fixed a small mistake - your page mistakenly said that you were an admin here, which at present you're not. If you wish to become an admin, you are welcome to apply at WP:RFA. [edit] Your signature

Hello, while reading your edit on Talk:RuneScape, I noticed that your signature has a slight problem. It seems that you have your signature set to [[User:Storkian|Storkian] (note the missing second closing bracket) instead of the correct [[User:Storkian|Storkian]]. This means that your signature does not appear properly or link to your user page. To fix this, simply click on "my preferences," add the missing bracket, and click Save. --Pyrospirit Talk Contribs 22:28, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

It's kind of messing up the talk pages you post on, so can you please fix it? Pyrospirit Talk Contribs 15:55, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Runescape-mainpage.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Runescape-mainpage.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.

If you don't care in the slightest, sorry, but it's a formality. Amarkov blahedits 05:24, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

And instead of adding boilerplate again, I'll just say Image:Storkian-RuneScape.jpg has the same problem. -Amarkov blahedits 05:26, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Request for permanently banning the user Irfanhasmit

OK, at the outset, let me say that I'm not an admin, so can't protect pages, delete pages or block users (and probably wouldn't anyway, just on request!) However let's see what advice I can offer regarding what Irfanhasmit is up to.

Firstly I've "reverted" the changes to your userpage (that is, replaced the whole page as edited by Irfanhasmit with your earlier version) - this is very simple (you don't need to retype everything, so vandalism is more of an annoyance than something that takes hours to fix). You are always entitled to revert changes to your own userpage if the changes were simply vandalism. Note that this is vandalism whereas this isn't; not all changes made by another editor to someone's userpage are necessarily vandalism (heck, sometimes they're an improvement ;-) )

If you don't know how to revert changes, let me know. Once you know how to revert, please read about the 3 revert rule though, which bans anyone from making more than three reversions to the same page within a 24 hour period (except for reverting changes which you made yourself and for reverting obvious vandalism).

OK, the changes having been reverted, what's next?

Wikipedia has a series of warning templates designed for use on user talk pages to warn a user about his or her behaviour. These very loosely range from something meaning "Please don't do that again" to "If you do that ever again you'll be blocked". Irfanhasmit has a few on there, placed over a relatively short period, including {{tpv2}} which I placed there regarding the edits made to your userpage. Many warnings over a short period looks like someone liable to be blocked from editing quite soon if they don't stop inappropriate behaviour. If they do it again I'll place {{tpv3}}, followed by {{tpv4}}. If the vandalism continues I'll report the user on WP:AIV. You're free to do any of this yourself, of course, but blocks are in my experience more likely to be applied to a user who has consisently ignored a series of warnings...

I recommend you to keep an eye on your watchlist ("my watchlist" at the top of the page) as your own userpage is automatically on there, so you'll see if changes have been made.

Regarding asking for protection for your userpage, see this, however protection like this is generally for cases of persistent vandalism. You've been vandalised about twice on only one occasion, so I'd guess protection is unlikely to be granted (it's very easy to revert vandalism).

Finally, you might like to read this, which is an outline of the formal dispute resolution procedure. It's probably a bit soon for all that, though. Any questions, give me a shout! Cheers, Tonywalton  | Talk 11:46, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Having looked in detail at Irfanhasmit's talk page I would comment that making edits like this and this are a pretty good way of putting a sign on your back saying "kick me", to be honest. "dont do it ur gonna get killed" is especially nice, "joking" or not. Please remember to be civil and do not make personal attacks, even if provoked. Thanks, Tonywalton  | Talk 12:00, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Lol runescape soroush.jpg orphaned

Hi man, sorry to bring more bad news, but this image of yours is Jagex copyright, even though you've cropped it. You made quite a good job of the preparation though, and it could well be useful, so I've started a thread related to this here. Cheers, CaptainVindaloo t c e 00:48, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Actually, do you have an original of this in bitmap form? If you can reupload it with fewer artifacts, I can think of a couple of places where we can use it. CaptainVindaloo t c e 02:29, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
