This is a list of carjackings and motor vehicle thefts

- 1905, The first reported car theft occured in St. Louis, Missouri. [1]
- March, 1912- A luxury Dion Bouton was attacked by the Bonnot Gang in the Sènart forest between Paris and Lyon, France. The armed chauffeur and young secretary in the vehicle were killed.
- December 8, 1919- Benny Kauff and three accoplances stole a Cadillac from the Upper West Side of New York City. The car was later found on December 15, when Kauff sold it to an automotive broker. [2]
- October 21, 1920- A car was stolen in rural Oklahoma. The theft launched a four day search across Oklahoma and Texas. The car was found on October 22 in Walters, Oklahoma. The suspect, was later caught and was put in jail for theft and larceny. [3]
