Earl decides to cross off number ninety-one on his list: "Made fun of Maggie Lester for having a moustache". Earl and Randy visit Maggie who is now working for a carnival as "The Amazing Bearded Woman", and lives in a "freak town" called Shady Grove. Earl and Randy end up befriending Maggie's neighbors, but are perplexed by their unwillingness to appear in public among "normal" people. Eventually, Earl flashes back to being afraid to swim as a kid because other kids at the pool made fun of his hairy nipples. Earl returns to the pool in an attempt to conquer his own self-consciousness, which convinces the people of Shady Grove that they don't have to be ashamed of themselves, and eventually they all leave the carnival in favor of more dignified occupations. Meanwhile, Joy has difficulty dealing with the fact that her court-appointed public defender is a deaf woman.

- Earl still doesn't like taking his shirt off in public.
- Due to the Amish school shooting, a line was censored at the beginning of the original broadcast. The line turned out to be: "You know how those... people all chip in when they're building a barn?"
