[edit] Edit by 212.30.222.12

212.30.222.12 made this edit to the article on 2006-02-09 14:28:01 and this one on 2006-02-09 14:29:06. I removed (again) because makes big claims and doesn't cite any sources:

  • He was called the Sleep-rapist (Icelandic: Svefnnauðgarinn) by the media.
  • "Tabloids had a field day..." isn't really neutral
  • Needs sources:
    • "was recently convicted of serious sexual assault (using sedatives)" -- he was suspected of it in the initial case but nothing was proven, have there been more convictions?
    • "is awaiting prison space to begin his incarceration" - very likely given the amount of prison space in Iceland, but needs a source.
    • "A large number of victims have come forward to the media and police since his case began getting press coverage"

Are you fucking kidding me about the "sleep rapist" thing? Where the hell have you been, man? Google svefnnauðgari and he's the person that pops up, you'd have to be living under a rock or far, far, far, far, FAR away from Iceland to not know that is basically the name he is known under. Do we need to post references if we're going to mention the fact that Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf is actually better known as Comical Ali? I don't think anyone knows where that came from, but google comical ali and what do you find?

[edit] Clean this up!

The article currently reads a little too much like it was translated via babelfish from Icelandic. Awkward grammar, bad punctuation, and non-sequiturs (like the constant mention of the market share of each news outlet that reported on the case.) Can someone just give it a thorough going over? Someone who isn't me?
