Stewart's Drive-In
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stewart's Drive-In is a classic 1950s style restaurant. Started in 1924 in Mansfield, Ohio by Frank Stewart, the chain has spread. Stewart's is famous for its Stewart's Fountain Classics root beer and hot dogs. Prior to 1990, the old-fashioned style drinks were only available at Stewart's. Bottling rights were acquired by the Cable Car Beverage Corporation, and is now sold in stores. The root beer was ranked in the top three root beer companies, and was nominated for taste tests in 2001 and 2002. The restaurant was originally a west coast style fast food eatery serving only root beer and salted popcorn.
[edit] Stewart's Attractions
- One reason going to Stewart's is an event is because of their Root Beer keg, one can purchase a "take home" quantity of Root Beer in a plastic jug that is in the shape of a Barrel Keg.
- Some Stewart's has a wide collection of 50's memorabilla, such as Elvis Presley, and U.S. Route 66, and, of course, the orange and red awnings and checkered floors of the eatery itself.
