Steven Klement

Tagaturo Steven Klement was introduced to Mangisursuro Mike Inay and Inayan Eskrima in the month of December 1983 while visiting the West Coast. Soon after, Mr. Klement relocated to California to become a private student of Mangisursuro and lived under his roof for several years.

After High School, Mr. Klement enlisted into the U.S. Navy and after three years of active duty returned to California to continue his development under Mangisursuro. For the next six years Mr. Klement progressed his training under Mangisursuro and during this time Mr. Klement also traveled extensively across the nation as well as Europe with Mangisursuro to assist in seminars for Martial Artist, Law Enforcement Personnel and Civilians. During this time Mr. Klement was Mangisursuro's demonstration partner.

Instructor rank (Inayan Guro) was awarded to Mr. Klement on the evening of 11/26/94. Almost a year later, under the direction of Mangisursuro, Mr. Klement relocated and founded his own School in TN. This was a pioneering move as this was the first openly taught Eskrima in East TN.

Since 7/1/95, Mr. Klement had taught publicly in the Knoxville, TN area under the tutelage of Mangisursuro and continues to do so since Mangisursuro's passing.

Mr. Klement was awarded the rank of Lahong Guro (Seasoned Instructor) on 7/15/98. Rank of Masirib Guro was awarded on 10/8/00.

Mr. Klement is a founding member of the Inayan Brotherhood of Eskrima and continues to spread the art of Inayan Eskrima to this day by teaching at his school, The Inayan School of Eskrima, three days a week. In addition, Mr. Klement frequently teaches visiting students from around the country and Europe and conducts seminars for both civilians and the Law Enforcement community.
