Dr. Stephen A. Sohn, prominent Boston-based plastic surgeon and 1992 Republican nominee for U.S. Congress was born May 19, 1944 in Dorchester, Massachusetts to immigrant parents. Sohn's failed congressional bid against Edward Markey was most remembered for a negative campaign advertisement that featured pigs eating a trough. The advertisment was featured on Entertainment Tonight as one of the most negative campaign ad of the 1992 election season.

Sohn's son Brad Sohn is a Los Angeles based filmmaker and poker player.
