Steve Skeates

Steve Skeates is a comic book writer. He has been recognized for his work with Shazam Awards for Best Humor Story in 1972 for "The Poster Plague" in House of Mystery #201 (with Sergio Aragones), and for Best Writer (Humor Division) in 1974.
He worked on stories for the Spectre, Hawk and Dove, T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, Aquaman, and Namor the Sub-Mariner among other characters.

- Steve Skeates was known for his appreciation of social commentary.
- Some commentators consider Skeates' use of elements from his own story for Aquaman #56 (in 1971) in a Namor story three years later (Sub-Mariner #72) as the first occurrence of crossover between Marvel and DC.
