Steve Peat

Steve Peat is a downhill mountain biker, born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He placed second in the Mountain Bike World Championships in 2000, 2001 and 2002, and was World Cup champion in 2002, 2004 and 2006.
Peat raced for Team MBUK in the mid to late nineties, and then GT Bicycles until joining the Orange team between 2002 and 2005. He has since joined the Santa Cruz Syndicate team for the 2006 season.
Before becoming a professional cyclist Peat was a plumber. He is married to Adele Croxon and has a son, Jake.
Peat also contributes to the design of clothing made by Royal Racing, of which he is part owner.
