[edit] Wrongfully accused of murder
On December 11, Man Nguyen, a Vietnamese-American was found murdered in the backyard of his parents Burbank home. Kim had been seen leaving the scene by witnesses and was considered a primary suspect by Burbank police. After going into hiding for several days, Kim turned himself in at Burbank police headquarters on December 14. He was held on a first-degree murder charge on US$2 million bail for four months. However after overwhelming evidence showed Kim was not responsible for the murder, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Lia Martin announced that their office would no longer pursue a case against Kim.
