Steve Garfield
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Steve Garfield is a videographer and video blogger based in Boston, Massachusetts. One of the Internet's first video bloggers, or "vloggers," Garfield began experimenting with the technique in 2002. Predicting that vlogging would soon take off, Garfield launched his own regular video blog on January 1, 2004. In his first video post, he declared that the year 2004 would be the "year of the video blog," despite the fact that only a handful of Internet users were video blogging at the time. Since then, vlogging has grown to a community of thousands of vloggers all over the world.
Garfield is a former producer of the Boston-based Karlson and McKenzie radio show. More recently, he has produced his own video blog programs, including "The Carol & Steve Show" and "Vlog Soup." On February 3, 2005, Garfield posted what is believed to be the first video blog from a United States elected politician, Boston City Councillor John Tobin. Garfield is currently a regular contributor to Rocketboom, the Internet's most viewed video blog.
