Steve Felton

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steve Felton is an American drummer and music producer best known for his time spent as "Skinny" in the Cleveland, Ohio heavy metal band Mushroomhead. He was a founding member. Felton has remixed songs, along with Mushroomhead, on both of the band's remix albums; but he is the only one who is credited by name. He also is the programer for the hip hop act 10,000 cadillacs that he is in along with former Mushroomhead member JMann (Jason Popson).

Skinny is/was also apart of:

Felton is married to an artist named Vanessa, who contributed artwork to Mushroomhead’s major label debut XX.

Off stage Felton wears many hats booking the band, advancing shows, handling publicity, and managing their day to day business.

In late 2006, Skinny gave a number of interviews which contained a numerous amounts of insults towards Slipknot, calling them, at one point, "the N*SYNC of metal" and "hacks who got lucky".

[edit] Mask

Skinny's mask is the traditional black/red/white "X Face" mask with dreadlocks coming out of the top, similar to Corey Taylor's old mask. The dreadlocks of his mask, unlike Corey's, are in a "straight line" sort of fashion, opposed to Corey's dreadlocks which covered the top of his mask. Skinnys dreadlocks were part of his hair but he had them cut off and attached to his mask, this is revealed in the Mushroomhead "Volume 1" dvd (which can be seen on mushroomhead.com), where his mask comes off.

Since Mushroomhead has updated their look Skinny's mask still has the X-face with the dreds but has become more robotic looking.

[edit] Equipment

Skinny uses Yamaha and Tama drums and Zildjan cymbals.
