Steve Abbott

Stephen Abbott (known as Steve Abbott; born 1956, Broken Hill, New South Wales) is an Australian comedian and author who is famous for his portrayal of oddball characters, particularly one known as The Sandman. He is also an actor in both serious and comedic roles, and is married to actress Angela Moore. He was a member of a cabaret band called The Castanet Club in which he played a character called Johnny Goodman. A film was made about the band in (1990).
He currently hosts In Siberia Tonight (2005) which is a late night TV show airing on SBS with guests, music, and of course, his mother Evelyn - including a segment called "My Son's Favourite Meals" where we get to watch Steve and Eve bicker comically in the kitchen.
Steve attended Keira High School, studied drama at the University of Newcastle and is a qualified cricket umpire.
