Sterkenburg is a surname of Dutch origin.

Many internet translators when translating "sterken burg" set to convert from Dutch to English will give "strong burg" and when set to convert from German to English will give "sterken castle" or "sterken mountain".

The literal translation is, in fact, "strong Castle".

As you would expect, Kasteel Sterkenburg (literally translated from Dutch to English being "Castle Strongcastle") is a castle built in Holland and parts still stand today.
