Stephnie Weir (born November 28, 1967; sometimes credited as Stephanie Weir) is an American actress and comedian. Weir is most notable for her membership in the recurring cast of comedians on sketch comedy series MADtv.

Stephnie Weir was born on November 28, 1967 in Odessa, Texas. She attended Odessa Junior College where she mastered in theatre and broadcasting. Weir then transferred to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where she majored in anthropology and women's studies. Stephnie Weir has been married twice (first to Sean Benjamin from 1989 to 1995 and then to Robert Dassie in 2001). Weir teamed up with her current husband, Robert Dassie, to form the comedy partnership WeirDass and they performed at the ImprovOlympic's 20th anniversary. Some of Weir's other improv credits include performing on The Second City's main stage, and the Goodman Theatre.

Weir joined the cast of MADtv in 2000 as a feature performer, for the sixth season. However, Weir was later promoted to a repertory performer status the following season. Weir quit MADtv in January 2006. Weir's madcap energy would garner major laughs from audiences. Some of her famous characters included narrow minded naive student Angela Wright, drama queen/actor Dorothy Lanier, hyperactive kid Dot Goddard, partygirl doctor Kylie Johnson, cat-loving Lillian Verner Game Show champion Gail Cinder, Leona Campbell (based on Weir's real-life grandma), Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority sister Mackenzie Shaw, and stroke-having Muriel Westig. She also gained notoriety for her offbeat impersonations of Anna Nicole Smith and Laura Bush.

When Weir joined the cast, she was 32 years, 11 months old, making her the fifth-oldest new cast member in the series' history (only Paul Vogt, Michael McDonald, Debra Wilson and Mo Collins were older when they joined).Currently Weir is staring on the new hit comedy "Big Day" on ABC.

  • Her name is not misspelled yet is unique because of the apparent missing "a".
  • Completed the 2004 Honolulu Marathon in 5:13.59
  • Despite being on MADtv, Weir is still part of The Second City Improv Comedy Group and travels to Chicago to perform whenever she can.
  • Although most of Weir's characters were made up by her imagination, Mrs. Campbell is based on Weir's real life Texan grandmother and a lady she heard talking on a train.
  • She auditioned twice for Saturday Night Live.
  • She is born on the same day as Anna Nicole Smith.
