Stephen Vaughan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stephen Vaughan (born 22 January 1985 in Liverpool) is an English football defender who plays club football at Chester City.
Vaughan is considered to be a great prospect and was a steal for Chester City who signed the highly rated defender from many other clubs including some Coca Cola Championship clubs. Vaughan was made captain of chester at the start of the 2006/2007 season and has flourished in this role with his passion helping to win over teammates and fans alike. At times fans questioned whether his selection was due to his father being the chairman but he has won the majority of fans over with a string of consistent performances
Vaughan had made his prolific name at Liverpool in the Reserves where he was a regular defender and was up against some good established footballers. However, he had never played for the senior Liverpool side in The Premiership but has represented England at under 15, 17 and 19 levels. It is believed that Vaughan has the potential to one day return to the premiership and future international recognition is not out of the question.
A piece of trivia is that he is actually the older brother of James Vaughan, who also plays for Chester City and the two are sons of the current Chester chairman, Stephen Vaughan.
