Stephen Pound

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stephen Pelham "Steve" Pound [1] (born 3 July 1948) is the Labour member of Parliament for Ealing North, in London, and has been MP since 1997. He graduated from the London School of Economics. In January of 2005 it was revealed that Pound, now married and the father of two, had an illegitimate daughter when he was eighteen years old. In May 2005, Pound appeared on British TV quiz show Have I Got News For You and in December of that year in a special edition of University Challenge.

His nickname derives from his hooked nose, scissor lips and jutting chin, resulting in his uncanny likeness to the grotesque Commedia dell'Arte character Mr Punch.[citation needed]

Pound is a Fulham F.C. fan.
