[edit] Youth

Stephen is the oldest of two children, having a sister called Kim Michal. He was born in Thalwil, near Zurich, Switzerland whilst his parents studied at Roeschlikon seminary. Despite this, he is a UK citizen.

Aged two, he moved back to stay in Dundee for less than a year, before moving to the Springburn area of Glasgow, where his father was a local Baptist minister at Springburn Baptist Church.

Aged five, he moved home to the town of Kirkintilloch, Glasgow, where he attended Oxgang Primary School, and later Kirkintilloch High School. (2000-2005)

[edit] The RipOffs

Planning on taking up the drums, discovery of a black Yamaha acoustic guitar in a cupboard of his home, he turned to guitar instead, and slowly picked up the instrument over a period of a few years; staunchly refusing to learn by the conventional methods of memorising other people's songs. As a result, some have said his playing has suffered a lack of technical ability.

Playing in small attics in the nearby town of Lenzie, Stephen then met Martin Haig whilst at High School, and after being drafted in to sing a Green Day song at a local talent show, the spark for live performances was born. After a few months of uncertainty, drummer Keith Grantham was brought in, and The RipOffs were complete.

[edit] Technology

Away from music, Stephen has a large presence on the internet, and has helped to startup and run some of the most prominent sites dedicated to MSN Messenger programming that exist. Examples of this include Mess.be, Msnfanatic, Nerd Box, and many others.
