Stephen Lipson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stephen J. Lipson is a producer and guitarist who has worked with numerous artists, including Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Grace Jones. He has produced all of the solo albums by former Eurythmics frontwoman Annie Lennox, giving her solo catalog a remarkable unity.

Lipson started out as an engineer for The Rolling Stones, but then became a protégé of Trevor Horn's at ZTT. There, he worked as an engineer, producer, guitarist, keyboardist and bassist on various projects, including Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Grace Jones (co-writing "Slave to the Rhythm"), Act, Betsy Cook and Propaganda. In Great Britain is very desirable to work with Trevor Horn, and the importance of this experience to Lipson's career cannot be overstated, though he has successfully distinguished himself apart from Horn.

In more recent years, he has produced artists including Geri Halliwell, Daniel Bedingfield, Gareth Gates, Rachel Stevens, S Club 7 and Will Young.
