The Stephen Foster Handicap is a race for thoroughbred horses, age three and up, run during the Spring Meet of Churchill Downs. It is a major summertime race, particularly for older horses. The Stephen Foster is a Grade I event run on the dirt at a distance of one and one-eighth miles and offers a purse of $750,000.
