Stephen Oris Drew (born March 16, 1983 in Valdosta, Georgia) is a shortstop in major league baseball who plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Drew was selected for the 2006 All-Star Futures Game.
He is the younger brother of Dodgers outfielder J.D. Drew and former Indians pitcher Tim Drew.
On July 13, 2006 during a game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Craig Counsell injured his ribs, prompting the call-up of Drew from the D-Backs AAA affiliate Tucson Sidewinders.
He made his major league debut on July 14 against the Milwaukee Brewers. Also making his major league debut that day (for the Milwaukee Brewers), was Tony Gwynn Jr., son of former major leaguer Tony Gwynn.
On July 17, 2006, Drew recorded his first major league hit off the Dodgers' Aaron Sele. This was also his first game opposing his brother, J.D. Drew.
He is expected to be the Diamondbacks starting shortstop for years to come.
