Stepanovićevo

Stepanovićevo (Cyrillic: Степановићево) is a village in Serbia. It is located on the edge of Novi Sad municipality, in South Bačka District, in province of Vojvodina; about 20 km from Novi Sad; between villages of Kisač and Zmajevo.
As of 2002 census, the village has a Serb ethnic majority and a population of 2,118 people.

The village was named after Serbian voivod Stepa Stepanović who distinguished himself in Serbia's wars from 1876 to 1918. In Serbian, the village is known as Stepanovićevo or Степановићево and in Hungarian as Bácshadikfalva.

It was founded after the World War I (between 1920-24).

Village is located on the main rail tracks in Serbia, which connect Subotica-Novi Sad-Belgrade. Stepanovićevo, like most settlements close to Novi Sad, is connected by Novi Sad's bus service JGSP Novi Sad - line 43 (the line passes Rumenka and Kisač as well); but also many buses pass on route Vrbas-Novi Sad.
