"Step by Step" is a song written and performed by Annie Lennox. The song was released as the B-side of her single "Precious".

The song was later covered by Whitney Houston and became a hit on its own right as part of the soundtrack for the movie The Preacher's Wife. Annie Lennox provided backing vocals for Houston's version.
