Steinabration
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Steinabration is a tradition celebrated on or about the night of December 8th, most notably by people in the New York metropolitan area. Most people feel this annual tradition was started by two women, Kate McCabe and Ali Zimmerman to honor the birthday of a man named David L. Stein. According to Ms. McCabe, people were Steinabrating as far back as the mid eighties, but an official Steinabration was not named until December 8th of 1997. Since it's inception, Steinabration has become more of an annual event celebrated by a wider and wider audience throughout the United States. The intention for the future, according to it's founders and celebrant, is to raise money just before the holiday season, to be donated to charities devoted to various holiday related activities, ie - toys for tots, salvation army, etc.. A Fundraiser will be announced prior to next years Steinabration 2007.
