Steiger Farm Tractor

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Steiger Farm Tractor is a large four wheel drive tractor, manufactured in Fargo, North Dakota, that was widely used in Western Oklahoman wheat fields in the 1970s. It has a large diesel engine. It was painted yellow-green. It was at least five years ahead of tractor makers such as John Deere and Case Corporation in recognizing the need for a large four wheel drive wheat tractor.

In late 1986, Steiger was purchased by the J. I. Case Company of Racine, Wisconsin. Today, large Case IH four wheel drive tractors are branded Steiger.
