Steen's cane syrup

Steen's cane syrup is a very sweet sugar cane syrup commonly found in Louisiana homes. It is produced in Abbeville, Louisiana and packaged in bright yellow cans. It is traditionally a popular choice for biscuits and pancakes and well as Pain perdu. In many homes in its region of distribution, it may be the only syrup. It has also been incorporated into more sophisticated recipes by Louisiana and New Orleans chefs wishing to emphasize local products.
