St Basil's Cathedral

St. Basil's Cathedral was commissioned by Ivan the Terrible, who legend has it, had the Architect blinded, so as to prevent him from building a more magnificent building for anyone else. As you can see the Cathedral is currently being renovated. To the left you can see the Kremlin Clock tower adorned with a ruby red star. The domed building in the background houses the Russian Congress and other government offices. The red building with the spires to the right of St. Basil's is the State Historical museum. The area between this museum and St. Basil's is the Red Square.
