As the name might show (to the initiated), I am a Dutchman.
Pieter Stastok (Peter Stay-as-a-stick, or John Dull) is a figure in the mid-19th century Dutch book Camera Obscura by Hildebrand (which is a nickname of Nicolaas Beets). The book contains funny observations about persons and situations in daily life in the Netherlands at the time. Pieter Stastok is a clumsy, dull young man, described as someone who studies (at the university of Leyden), but who is not a student.
I didn't choose the nickname because I feel related to this figure, but I needed a nickname and I appreciate the book.
In my professional life, I am an ICT Infrastructure consultant.
Privately, I like classical music above all. I used to play the flute, which I hardly do anymore, and I have gathered quite some knowledge on the subject of (classical) music.
