Template talk:Star Wars character
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I figured the "year of birth" and "year of death" could be put after the character's name rather than in the table. Feel free to argue before changing anything.

[edit] Imperials vs. Sith colors
Just so you know black (bgcolor=#000) is for Sith and dark Jedi while gray (bgcolor=#ccc) is for Imperials. If a character is both a Sith and an Imperial(as with Vader and Palpatine,) then their color is black.
[edit] Image Captions
There really isn't any reason to have a caption for an image, if there is no image (as on Anakin Skywalker's article.)
[edit] Federation vs. Sith colors
Black (see above) is strictly reserved for Sith and dark Jedi. For members of the Trade Federation and Separtists use bgcolor=#bb0.
[edit] Pointless stuff
I have started a discussion in the Village Pump aimed at getting opinions about removing the lines about "eye color" and "hair color" from the tables. Those two are completely pointless, absolutely besides the point when it comes to the fictional characters. If anyone would like to comment, please drop by. So far, the people who have given their opinions have all agreed that these two lines are pointless and should go. If no one speaks against it, I'll remove those lines in a few days time. - Since no objections have arisen since the 5th, I'm removing the lines. --Poiuyt Man talk 08:00, 27 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] 'Film portrayer' line
It believe it would be prudent to change 'film portrayer' to simply 'portrayer,' since many characters in the Star Wars universe never appeared in the films, but were portrayed in video games or other media. - Prizm 19-06-05 17:06 CDT
- [As no objections have been made, I've gone ahead with the change. — Prizm 21-08-05 14:58 CDT]
[edit] "weapon" and "vehicle"
I find these very silly properties to list so I'm gonna remove them. Some property noting what they actually do in the universe ("title" or "job" or somesuch) would be useful too. — Phil Welch 11:32, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Font colors
I noticed a variation of the font color for various characters. Some characters, like Luke Skywalker—the font color of his name is white and bolded, while others, like Jaina Solo—remains black. Personally I prefer white, but...
Do we follow the Wookieepedia's color of choice or the standard? —Mirlen 00:00, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Xolatron's color update
See User talk:Xolatron/SW character.
This allows better use of colors to relate characters together based on which group/faction they are from.

All previous template calls should still work (although white backgrounds make the text invisible - please change them to "color=Independent".
