removed references to Hawaii not having a state police as it does have a Hawaii Department of Public Safety, Headed by the Hawaii State Sheriff, which does perform some of the duties of a state police force, such as protecting state property, operating state prisons, patrolling some state properties and waterways.--Tomtom 05:49, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
[edit] State trooper
Is "state trooper" synonymous with "state police officer"?
