Talk:Star Wolf (Star Fox)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Does this article REALLY need to contain fan-fiction information? DZComposer March 14, 2006.
- Probably not. A bunch of anon IP's have been bending it to their will and I am lazy and haven't gotten to it yet. Thunderbrand 04:01, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- I'm actually the one who wrote it, and considering that the information is about the SPECULATION theories on the relationships between the Star Fox and Star Wolf teams, I would say that it is pertinent to the article. These are legitimate arguments and speculations about the Star Wolf team, not just fan-fiction flights of fancy, and considering how such speculatory theories HAVE been accepted on other Wikipedia entries, I don't see how this should be any different. SynjoDeonecros March 19, 2006.
- I'm not too sure. None of what you wrote it sourced, so it's legitamacy is in question. It's not really canon anyway. Thunderbrand 15:52, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
- Exactly how many speculations listed on this site are sourced? I don't believe any of the 'facts' on the Fanon and Fanwank articles are sourced, which is exactly what this information is: popular fanon based on the canonical information from the games themselves.
- Fact: As of now, the only member of Star Wolf that has a known backstory behind their rivalry against Star Fox is Pigma; the rest have bupkiss.
- Fact: Wolf is incensed with being the only one to whup Fox, but his mannerisms and personality are becoming more like Fox's with each game. Speculation: Wolf may or may not be jealous of Fox for some reason or another (most likely due to his being the son of the famed James McCloud), or he could be wanting revenge for a previous scuffle (we know that they know each other before Star Fox 64, and sometime before SF64, Wolf lost an eye, so if his motives for wanting Fox IS for a past exchange, that might explain what happened), but the more he pursues his quarry, the more he ends up emulating him, as well.
- Fact: Falco is known to have been part of a space gang, and he and Leon have a murderous rivaly between them. It's also speculated through Leon's own comments that he's a torturer. Speculation: Falco and Leon met up on opposing gangs, and their confrontations there formed their hatred for one another; As Leon is a supposed torturer, he tortures Falco's gang friends, invoking the hatred.
- Fact: Andrew continuously refers to his uncle whenever he shows up in the games, and Star Wolf was originally hired by Andross to destroy Star Fox. After the Lylat Wars, Andrew ditched Star Wolf to take over the remaining Venomian forces, not even asking for the team's help. Speculation: Andrew was only on Star Wolf's team as part of their contract with Andross, and probably never would have joined had he been given the chance.
- Fact: Star Wolf was hired by Andross to destroy Star Fox, but have not been known in-game to attack any other targets in the Lylat system during the war, nor did they join with Andrew in his rebellion after the war. In fact, they went on to their own devices between SF64 and Star Fox Assault, and even aided the Lylat soldiers against the Aparoid menace. Speculation: Except for their animosity towards Star Fox, Star Wolf has no qualms with the Lylat system or its people, and only joined with Andross during the war, because of the contract they had with him against Star Fox.
Yes, it's speculation, but it's popular fan speculation based on the canonical information from the games. Some of the speculation I put on this article (like the one with Leon and Falco) has even been put in the character's individual articles, so if this info is to be disputed based on its validity, then those would have to be put under the same scruitiny, as well. - Fine, then leave it in. Personally, I could care less. Thunderbrand 17:13, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image
We should get an image that shows all the members of Star wolf in one picture like this one. http://arwinglanding.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=78&pos=6 Delsait
[edit] Firm up some details?
Some lines are wishy-washy and need rephrasing. Mainly relating to the members of the Star Wolf team.
He's possibly a gang member, as well. Well yes. He's also possibly a blood donor.
He has a rivalry against Fox McCloud, possibly because they are both the leaders of their respective teams. Or possibly for any number of reasons. Does the "possibly" verify anything?
[edit] Ages
Are the team members' ages supported facts or are they just made up? I haven't seen a reliable source that gives their ages. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ikani87 (talk • contribs).
- I dunno. People keep changing them and I haven't got around to doing some editing here lately. Thunderbrand 23:21, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Command information
Now that Star Fox Command is available in the US, there will be a large influx of information. I'll do the best I can, but I'm adding stuff as I see it in the game. I changed the Command section, as "the Japanese site confirms them to be playable" and "their roles are unknown" don't seem to apply any more. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by HongrelLongrelMongrelDongrel (talk • contribs).
[edit] Why is the Wolf O'Donnell Article gone?
And why is Star Wolf on the minor character page? Shouldn't they be considered big enough characters to have their own pages?-NFAN3
- See Talk:List of characters in the Star Fox series for the discussion. Just cause you think a character deserves its own page doesn't mean it should. Thunderbrand 17:44, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Algy isn't the name of the monkey in Star Fox 2
That would be Andrew Oikonny. I've played the game, he is clearly called Andrew. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by {} (talk • contribs). 6:01 PM on Monday, November 27, 2006
[edit] Lies and trickery
The Star Fox Command information isn't correct, or at the very least contradicts every-freaking-thing else on the site. At least attempt to be accurate, for God's sake... that's biased BS.
