Stars was released in 1975 by Warner Bros. Records. The album was Cher's third flop album of the 1970s. The other flop albums being Foxy Lady (1971), Bittersweet White Light (1973), I'd Rather Believe in You (1976), Cherished (1977) and Prisoner (1979). It was produced by Jimmy Webb.
It peaked at #153 in the United States.
