Pivovary Staropramen a.s. is the second largest brewery in the Czech Republic, situated in Prague in the Smichov district. It was founded in 1869 and the brand name Staropramen (literally "old spring") was registered in 1911. It is currently owned by Inbev and its products are exported to 37 countries across the globe, mostly in Europe and North America.

Beers:

  • Staropramen Premium Lager - a traditional Czech pilsner
  • Staropramen Granat - a semi-dark pilsner
  • Staropramen Dark - a Bavarian style dark lager
  • Kvasnicak - fresh, very turbid yeast beer available only in the brewery's pub
  • Braník
  • Velvet
  • Kelt
  • Ostravar Original
  • Ostravar Premium
  • Ostravar Strong
  • OSTO6

In Prague, it is still common for a pub to serve a single brand of beer; one can get a sense of the popularity of Staropramen beers in the number of pubs that serve them. Staropramen comprises a large portion of the market, along with Pilsner Urquell and Krušovice.

In Britain, Staropramen is sometimes informally abbreviated to "Star".
