"Starlight" is a song by English rock band Muse and is the second track on their 2006 album Black Holes and Revelations. It was released 4 September 2006 as the second single from that album in the UK, peaking at #13 in the UK Singles Chart (see 2006 in British music).[1] It was also the second single released in the United States, peaking at #14 in the Modern Rock Tracks chart.[2] The song was first played live during the 'Radio 1 big weekend' festival in summer 2006.

[edit] Video
The band worked with David Slade on the music video for Starlight. The video shows the band playing on the deck of a bulk carrier. Slade previously worked with Muse on the videos for "New Born", "Bliss", "Sing for Absolution", "Hyper Music" and "Feeling Good".
Before its release, the video for "Starlight" was initially thought (or was otherwise speculated) to be a sequel to or continuation of another of their videos with David Slade, "Sing for Absolution" [citation needed], although that claim seems to be been unfounded. (The largely computer-generated video for their single "Sing for Absolution" showed the band travelling through space aboard a rocket, eventually crash-landing on what appears to be a deserted, post-apocalyptic Earth.)
