"Starla" is a song by The Smashing Pumpkins. It is a b-side from the I Am One single, which was re-released when the album Gish was released. It also featured on their b-sides and rarities album, Pisces Iscariot and is the longest song on the album at 11:01. Pumpkins lead singer and guitarist Billy Corgan got the inspiration to write the song when a fan at one of their gigs told them her name was Starla. Corgan subsequently discovered that her name was actually Darla. The last 5 minutes of the song consist of a lengthy guitar solo. All Music Guide said "Starla" "proves that Corgan was one of the finest (and most underrated) rock guitarists of the '90s"[1]
