Starkweather (band)

Starkweather are a hardcore / metal band from Philidelphia that formed in the late 80s / early 90s. Although almost totally unknown and unrecognised in underground circles, Starkweather is one of the few bands (along with groups like Rorschach) that pioneered the hardcore/metal crossover sound that would later be known as "metalcore". Starkweather first released an LP on PA based Harvcore Records (owned by Edgewise guitarist Vince Spina). Later the record was re-released on CD by Too Damn Hype.
