From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Stanley Mitchell hut is an alpine hut located in Little Yoho Valley in Yoho National Park, British Columbia. The hut is maintained by the Alpine Club of Canada. Coordinates: NAD83 11U 530293 5708485
The summer approach to the hut begins in the Takakkaw Falls parking lot, and follows a 10km trail North-West. The winter approach is often done on skis, as the road to Takakkaw Falls is not plowed, adding about 13km to the total distance.
The hut sleeps 26 in summer and 22 in winter. (There are floor-level foam mattresses on the second floor of the hut.) There is a wood stove for heating and drying gear, a well-equipped kitchen with propane ranges and oven. There are propane-powered lamps in the kitchen and common areas.
