Stanley Gene (born 11 May 1974) is a Papua New Guinean rugby league player. He plays half back/loose forward/hooker. He played for Hull KR for several years before moving to the Huddersfield Giants. He left the Giants at the end of the 2005 season and moved to Bradford Bulls. It was reported on November 1st 2006, that he had re-signed for Hull Kingston Rovers following their promotion to Super League. There is also a lot of controversy over the actual age of Stanley Gene, with many believing the official age published by his clubs to be incorrect. Reports of his age vary between the sublime and the ridiculous, after contacting his relatives in Papua and tracing his birth certificate (www.nationalarchive.co.png) his true year of birth is revealed as 1974, making him a spritely 32 for his first year in the ESL with Hull KR.
