Stanley Fort

Stanley Fort was a military position on the south side of Hong Kong Island.

Established in 1841, the fort was used as a Japanese war prison during World War II with prisoners from both Britain and Canada. From 1937 to 1941, the fort served as a prison and resumed the role after the war. Today, the fort is still operated as Stanley Prison by the Hong Kong Correctional Services).
