From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stand Up Australia! is a TV show locally produced by The Comedy Channel since 2006. It is hosted by Cameron Knight, and features two Australian or international comedians on each half-hour show. It is produced in Foxtel's Sydney studios located in North Ryde.
Tapings of the shows are usually conducted each Tuesday afternoon/evening consisting of two sessions of two shows being taped each session in front of a live audience. A unique feature of each show being taped is the set and props are moved/modified between each taping to give off the feel of a different set each time.
As of November 2006, Cougar Bourbon became the major sponsor of Stand Up Australia. The Comedy Store, Sydney is also a sponsor of the show providing promotion and comedians that appear on Stand Up Australia.
For the week of the Melbourne Cup 2006 carnival, there was a number of episodes that had a "racing" theme for each show. This included the set, audience and host being dressed up in horse racing themes.
The comedy set and studio is now called "The Troubled Bison".
