Perhaps the most well known Stamford hotel is the Stamford Plaza Double Bay (SPDB), located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. The SPDB is popular with many visiting celebrities, musicians and politicians including the likes of John Travolta, Kylie Minogue, Neil Diamond, The Rolling Stones and former US Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton.
The SPDB carries notoriaty for the death of INXS frontman, the late Michael Hutchence. Whilst his death occurred when the hotel was under the operation of the Ritz-Carlton, the stigma remains with the Hotel to this day.
The SPDB was recently used as the location for the new reality TV series Australian Princess.
