Stallington Signal Box

Stallington Signal Box was opened by the NSR in 1884 on there Derby to Stoke line. The box was built to NSR specifications by McKenzie & Holland utilising a GNR style cabin with a standard McKenzie & Holland locking room. The Signal Box was equipped with a standard McKenzie & Holland 13 lever frame and a Gate Wheel for operating the Level Crossing Gates which controlled traffic on Stallington Lane. Stallington Signal Box finally closed on 18th February 1989, the level crossing was converted to CCTV barriers supervised by Caverswall.
