[edit] Controveries

[edit] Kaun Hai Mujrim?

The program Kaun Hai Mujrim (Who is the Guilty One? in English) has whipped-up a Public Passion to oust the (once) Indian Cricket Captain Sourav Ganguly. This program had used their languages in an Unparliamentary manner. The hosts of the program uttered failures like Bishen Singh Bedi, which is known to abandon the game in fear of losing to the West Indies in 1970s.

This is sparked all of the Bengalis living outside the state of West Bengal.

[edit] Broadcasts outside India

The international feeds of STAR News differ somewhat from the Indian version:

[edit] Europe

The old STAR News logo is still used in Europe despite the change in India. The text of the news ticker is in English and also featured is Star News Asia, a 30-minute English language news bulletin that is shown in Asia on STAR World.

[edit] Philippines & Hong Kong

In the Philippines and Hong Kong, the programs are similar to India. The new STAR News logo is used and the news ticker is written in English.

[edit] United States

In the United States, the word "India" is incorporated in the logo to denote the Indian origin of the channel and the news ticker is in English. The programs are broadcast live from India, excluding Star News Asia, which is telecast in weekdays over repeat programming.
