[edit] 2001-2002 League Title
FAI does not recognise the 2001-02 league title due to a 15 point deduction for an inelegable player. As such since the FAI runs the league and keeps the records for the league, I am deferring to their decision until they rule otherwise, I do realise that the club has this title posted on their website and that they consider them self the title winner, but as that is a club decision and not a league decision I cant not accept it, and it will summarily be removed.--Boothy443 | comhrÚ 19:45, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Perhaps it should be listed with an asterisk and the explanation you've provided so that both sides position is available. Tufflaw 19:54, Apr 18, 2005 (UTC)
- It's breifly mentioned in the article, maybe should be expanded, but not on the list of titles, they got docked enough points that they droped into the 3rd spot, putting in the league titles section, even with an *, would give some kinda of ligiticmay to their claim.
- Maybe this might be a good compromise -
- == Honours ==
- League titles 1951-52, 1954-55, 1955-56, 1989-90, 1995-96, 1997-98, 1998-99
- It should be noted that while the club claims to have won the 2001-02 league title, the FAI does not recognize this claim due to a 15 point deduction for an ineligible player
- FAI Cups 1959, 1961
- League Cups 2000-01, 2003
- What do you think? Tufflaw 22:13, Apr 18, 2005 (UTC)
- I am still not convinced that it should be placed in the league title section, i am going to do some invesgation and see if i can't come up with more information. --Boothy443 | comhrÚ 03:52, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Ok so here is some information i was able to find

[*1] full official name runs 'St. Patrick's Athletic incorporating St. Francis'; the club had 9 points deducted due to fielding an ineligible player (Paul Marney) in their first 3 games of the season, but this decision has been revoked upon arbitration, and Shelbourne's appeal against that thrown out by the High Court; on March 22, they had 15 points deducted for playing Charles Mbabazi Livingstone in the first 5 matches of the season in spite of not having registered him until September 12, 2001; Shelbourne are Premier League champions for 2001/2002 after the FAI arbitration panel rejected St. Pats. appeal the merger between St. Patrick's and St. Francis collapsed during the season.

- I sitill have a problem with the a lsiting in the club honors, but would add an expaneded portion about the point deductions during the season in the artile and putting a mark on the full league champs stating that Shelbourne won the league because of the deduction. --Boothy443 | comhrÚ 04:43, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
